Surgery is the mainstay for NPH.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.

Cisternography showing abnormal migration of CSF consistent with NPH suggests that that the cause of your symptoms is Normal pressure hydrocephalus(NPH).You need to get in consultation with your neurologist. If the diagnosis gets confirmed,he will do the therapeutic removal of CSF by lumbar puncture and will observe for improvement in your symptoms. If you show improvement on large volume CSF removal, you'll probably benefit from shunt surgery(Ventriculo-peritoneal shunting). So,your neurologist after doing the necessary evaluation regarding the same, may refer you to the neurosurgeon for opinion on the shunt surgery.

Hope that I have answered your query. If you have some further questions,I shall be glad to answer else please close the thread, rate it and write a review as your rating will be of help to me.
