Question: Good morning Doctor,
My name isx.x.x.xxxxxxx XXXXXXX I am here writing to get clarified about my doubt.
I had kidney function test in september, during that time my serum creatine is 1.1(Normal range given is 0.9 to 1.4) and BUN IS 11.2 and Blood urea is 24,(Weight 68 kg, age 28, indian). Today I repeated again and found that creatine is 1.2 BUN is 12.6, urea is 27, water intake is nearly 500ml today (Weight 68 kg, age 28, indian). My early monring first urine sample doesnt contain any albumin trace in november is complete normal, where a trace is there in before day evening sample. Sir can I know the reason my creatine increased by a span of 5 months, I used cefixime and azithromycin, ibuprofen and paracetamol, cetrizine for Sinusitis and throat infection from dec 30th to 3rd, MY Bp is under control, no diabetes, random is always below 90, fasting is 95 post lunch is also normal. My water intake ranges from 1 to 2.5 litres per day whereas today its just 0.5 litres, other symptoms is my sinusitis cause me lot of dry mouth, and i am pins and needles sensation in soles which are found that i am having vitamin B12 deficency. That pins and needle sensation is not always just some times. My ultra sound scan said that, kidney are normal in size, echo and cmd is maintained, No painful urination nothing. .I am really worried and thinking my kidney are gonna fail. can u tell me why the values are fluctuating like this, thanks in advance.

Brief answer....there is nothing to worry as your reports are normal
Detailed answer....
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understand your concern.
First of all let me make it very clear to you is that your reports are absolutely normal and you don't have any kidney disease.
Your all values fall within normal limits and hence they are normal.
Second important point to be considered is that creatinine varies with many things like hydration, consumption of medicines, some recent or current illness, diet and amount of exercises etc.
What matters is a persistent rise in your creatinine as well as other parameters of kidney function tests along with the symptoms over a period of many months.
Had you been a kidney disorder patient, you would have had some  symptoms regarding this and by gods grace, you don't have any of them.
Reports like this can vary a bit if done on different occasions.
Just take an example of your blood sugar levels. Will they be ditto same on everyday ?
No. What matters is that it should be within normal limits and that is why there is always a reference range mentioned.
The reference range of creatinine is .9 to 1.4
It means any value falling within this range is normal.
I hope you understand it.
You are most welcome to revert to me or any further query.
Best of luck
