Question: I have had 2 Uti's in the last 2 months, burning, frequent urination, pain, cloudly urine with high nitrites and Luekocytes. Finished last course of Cipro 500mg 2x per day for 7 days about a week ago. Yesterday morning when I peed I had this come out in my urine, looks grayish white and feels like sand very grainy. No pain as they appear very small, but there was a couple of pin head sized blood spots on toilet paper after they came out. Very concerned is this a kidney stone or part of one I have never had them before. I know pic are blurry, but they are sand like feel grainy and fall apart when touched. Will attach pics if needed.

Want to add I am extremely tired, listless, Dr. did blood work all KIDNEY FUNCTION test were normal, only elevated test where WBC 11.6, Platelets of 411, Lymphs and Nuerophils were only 1 point higher than normal. TSH was normal. Liver Ezymes AST was 37. I have never had elevated blood work results before, when blood work was taken I was on 3rd day of 7 day course of Cipro at 500mg 2x per day.

Brief Answer:
Your urinary infection is probably relapsing

Detailed Answer:
Yes, images are blurred but these seem like kidney stones.
Sometimes urinary infections just gets suppressed, with regular shorter course of antibiotics. Especially in people with renal stones.

A urine culture to identify a sensitivity pattern, followed by a longer antibiotic course followed by a longer course of 3 -6 months course of the same antibiotic single dose at night may help in eradicating the infection.
I would also suggest you get ultrasound scan done.

Since ciprofloxacin worked earlier, it is likely to work now.

Warm regards

I asked a more detailed question I had asked about my elevated blood work levels and tired listless feeling could you please address all the concerns in my question. What you seem to be saying is a need up to 6 months or antibiotics really?

Brief Answer:
A chronic incompletely treated infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

A precisely asked question will help you receive a specific answer to what is your concerns are.

A chronic incompletely treated urinary infection can be responsible for your symptoms and elevated blood works.

Since you are also on diuretic check electrolytes i.e. Sodium, Potassium, Calcium, and Magnesium. as they can fluctuate with diuretics.

Long term suppressive therapy in recurrent UTI, using antibiotics in lower doses for 3 to 6 months and sometimes even a 12 months, is standard of care.

Warm regards
