What Does My Blood Test Report Indicate?

Posted on Tue, 20 Oct 2015
Question: Hello.....I just looked at my bloodwork and my WBC is 4? I am having a hip replacement in a month is this bad? Is that why it is low? Will they not want to do the operation? I am a 56 year old female. I am from Canada and will be sending my info to a surgeon to have the operation done there.

Brief Answer:
Lower limit of normal range

Detailed Answer:
Hi there,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I am Dr.Barani and I am pleased to assist you.
I presume you meant your WBC is 4 (X 10 power 3 per cu.mm).
This is in the lower limit of normal range only.
So there is no need to worry.
They will not stop the operation because of this.

I hope that answers your query.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
Regards,
Dr.Barani

How do I find out why it is low? What do I do? More blood work? What does it mean?
