Brief Answer:
no UTI, not anemic

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question.
She is not anemic and does not have a UTI.
For anemia we look at hemoglobin and hematocrit and both of those are normal in her labs. She does have a very slight decrease in MCH, mean cell hemoglobin and MCHC, mean cell hemoglobin concentration. These are only mild decreases and are not concerning with a normal hemogloin and hematocrit.
The finding in her urine culture is lactobacillus and that is a normal organism that occurs all over our bodies. In order for a urine culture to be positive it needs to show greater than 100,000 organisms. When that finding occurs then they do a sensitivity test and report out what antibiotics the organism is sensitive to to guide the doctor in choosing the correct antibiotic.
I hope this is helpful.

Brief Answer:
diet first

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for your follow up. Depends upon her age ad general health. If she does not have heart disease or diabetes then I would recommend that she work on lowering fats and carbohydrates in her diet and increasing her exercise. If she has underlying heart disease or diabetes her doctor may want to go ahead and start her on a medication.
Please send me any other questions you may have
