What Does My BP Reading Indicate?
Question: my husband has a bp reading of 130/94. He is 60 years old. Is this too high? Should he get on medication?
Brief Answer:
The blood pressure reading ( diastolic ) is just boderline .
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
The blood pressure reading you have mentioned it not at all considered as very high and so don't be stressed about the same . For his age the blood pressure should be less than 140 /90 . So its just the lower ( diastolic) blood pressure which is boderline .
Decrease salt in his diet to less than 4 -5 gms a day. Inspire him to indulge in atleast 45 mind of daily aerobic exercise . By doing the above he may not require blood pressure medication . keep a check on the blood pressure reading taken at different times of day and keep us informed so we would guide you further .

I am 56, female with HBA1c of 6.8. Not on medication. But doctor will test again end january 2017. What should I do?
Brief Answer:
Yes , you should Get it checked again after 3 months
Detailed Answer:
Yes ,
You should get it evaluated after 3 months . To know the trend , whether it's increasing
Generally between 6.5 to 7 is a boderline range . Many doctors start a tablet if more than 6.5 . Some prefer to wait . However if more than 7 you should consider starting a small dose so in future you don't required large doses to medication .
Hopefully I could help
