What Does An Indentation Near The Vagina After Child Birth Indicate?

default
Posted on Fri, 5 May 2017
Question: 18 months ago I did have a baby.

over 2 weeks ago I was STI tested and all came back negative. I am very nervous and superstitious when it comes to stis anyways I been doing inspections onmyself regularly and I noticed while looking in the mirror I have this "dent" hole inside my vagina. I haven't had any problems of symptoms besides hour typical chafting and friction problems down there.

attached is the picture I took with a circle around it. let me know if there's concerns with it or if it's something from having my baby vaginally. thanks. there is only one like that I can see.

Brief Answer:
The lesion does not seem typical of sexually transmitted disease

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I carefully read your question and understand your concern. I had a look at the picture also.
The lesion that you have encircled does not seem a typical lesion for a sexually transmitted infection. It does not even seem to be related to the vaginal delivery either.

Do you have any symptoms like increased vaginal discharge or change in color or odor? Do you have any pain in the are that the lesion is? Do you have any deep abdominal pain when you have intercourse? Have you had any new sexual partners in the last 3-4 months? Which infections did you test for?

If you do not have any of the above mentioned symptoms and do not have any new recent sexual partners and meanwhile the tests came out normal than it is a very high likelihood that this is not a lesion related to sexually transmitted infections and there is nothing to worry.

So to conclude i would say:
1. the lesion does not seem typical for a sexually transmitted infection (if you have no pain locally)
2. Do not worry if not any symptoms mentioned above or no new sexual partners recently
3. check the lesion in the next 7-10 days and have a medical check if it is not improving or is getting bigger
4. if you have never done a pap test the last 3 years you will need one as a routine check in sexually active women over 21 years old. During the procedure a doctor can have a look at the lesion also

I hope this answers to your question and is helpful to you but please feel free to ask if anymore clarifications are needed on this.

Kind regards
