Posted on Fri, 17 Oct 2014
Question: Hello I have one big white spot at the back of my throat just to the left of the wiggly thing and I've got a few others not so big at the side just behind my wisdom teeth they don't hurt and I know it's not tonsillitis but I'm just curious ?

Brief Answer:
keratosis tonsils, oral thrush.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for your query.
In my opinion, you might be having a chronic infection of your tonsil. Causing keratotic plaque over the tonsils which look like white spots.
Second probable cause can be oral thrush .

If I were your treating doctor, I would have first clinically examined you, confirmed my diagnosisAnd then would have treated with candid mouth paint for oral thrush.
Would have recommended for surgery for keratosis tonsils.
Both conditions are treatable. Do not worry about it. You can consult with the doctor and discuss my view with him. Hope my answers have helped you. Thanks.

Thankyou! The only thing is, that it's not over my tonsill it's actually at the back of my throat more towards the centre and this one spot is really large and looks like it's about to pop probiably the size of the end of a cotton bud ??
