Question: Hi,

I got stye in my eyes 1 month. It didn't drain but i eyes become good after 3 days. On that particular day i felt a swollen lymph node near my earlobe which is very small in size. After few day i went to doctor and he said that i have ear infection because my ear is red from inside(But i don't had any symptom like pain or drainage in my ear). He gave me Ciprodex . After 4-5 days i again went to doctor because of that swollen lymph node as well as i felt like that my neck is stiff and i had mild pain in swallowing food. I had my blood test and X ray of my throat and it came back normal.

After 4-5 days i again went to doctor and he did a swab test and said its a strep throat and he gave me Penciline VX . After few days i notice my throat is becoming good and i also felt like my lymph node i also going down. But suddenly one day i felt that there is something below my left rib cage. I again went to doctor and he said it may be acid reflux. And he gave me antiacid . Right now i feel like i have lump in my throat and i feel little difficulty in swallowing food. MY lymph node is still there and i sometimes feel like it is warm. It is almost like 1 month today i don't know what to do. Can it be LPR or Gerd or cancer.

Now i am going to see ENT specialist.

Brief Answer:
CT neck including chest

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Since you are feeling like having a lump in your throat and is also having difficulty in swallowing food i would advise you to do a CT scan of neck including chest.

If any space occupying lesion is found in the scan then biopsy has to be done to rule out cancer.

After going through your history It is most probably gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) or Laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR) and is not cancer.

You can gargle your throat with warm saline water and can take proton pump inhibitor group of drugs twice daily before food for difficulty in swallowing food.

Hi,,

Today i went to see the ENT Specialist. He said that he thinks that its a Acid Reflux.
I asked him to do the Endoscopy test but he said no.
He checked my throat with some torch thing and said it is ok.
He said you don't have any swollen lymph node(Although i have and it is very small) and since last 4-5 days i feel like my swollen lymph node is warm(sometime with mild pain). What does this warming sign show?

He said take the antacid and again see him in 6 weeks.
I dont know what to do know.

Is there any relation of Acid with swollen lymph node near ear?

Thanks

Brief Answer:
no relation with acid reflux and swollen nodes

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Swollen warm lymph node means it is having some kind of infection.

If the size of the lymph node remains small then you do not need to worry.

But if it increases in size then you may have to take antibiotic for 7 days.

There is no relation with acid reflux and swollen lymph node.

I will advise you to take antacid for few days and if the problem gets solved then CT scan is not necessary.

If you have no more clarifications then please rate the answer and close the thread.
