Brief Answer: hi and welcome to hcm Detailed Answer: most commonly hernias manifest with lump on left or right inguinal side but other causes may be considered such as subcutaneous lipoma, fibroma or other lesions. If there is enlarging of this lump while coughing or standing then this is very likely to be hernia. in this case the best solution would be surgical repair which is a permanent and routine procedure today. Other treatment methods with belts are not succesful so much and there is always risk of incarceration and strangulation of hernia. you should avoid weight lifting as musch as you can. Wish you good health. Feel free to ask. Regards
