What Does A Growth Inside The Gums Indicate?
Question: i have a growth on the inside of my gums and a white patch on the outside of the same part of my gum... do you think this looks like mouth cancer? i used to smoke but not anymore and i used to be a big alcohol drinker aswell but not now. please look at the pic of the inside of my gum.. the growth is not huge but feels very annoying inside my mouth.

As far as the growth in the gums is concerned, I have one possibility.
It can be because of gum infection secondary to the deposits below the gums.
As per the images, There is enlarged attached gingiva with inflammation and gingival recession. This suggests the diagnosis as Localised periodontitis. As far the clinical pictures, it is not cancerous lesion.
Nothing to be panic.
If i am your treating doctor, I would have suggested you to get your teeth cleaned(scaling and root planing) once. And consult a oral physician and take a opinion about other areas in the oral cavity for any other lesions since you are giving the history of smoking.
