Brief Answer: Infection as cause to your CBC changes... Detailed Answer: Hi back, Thank you for sending in the requested lab reports. I have gone through them carefully, and nothing worrisome was noticed. The "L" refers to low levels found in the following CBC parameters: - HGB : hemoglobin (the blood pigment) - MCV: mean corpuscular volume (average red blood cell size) - MCH: mean corpuscular hemoglobin (amount of hemoglobin per red blood cell) - MCHC: mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (hemoglobin concentration per red blood cells) - #GRAN: blood cells containing granules of proteins inside (the blood cells responsible to fight infections) The decreased levels of these parameters are indicative for microcytic/hypochromic anemia and temporary neutropenia, most probably due to an infection. The letter "H" is referring to high levels of the following parameters: - %LYMPH: blood cells responsible for immune response - %MONO: the largest white blood cells Such high parameters are indicative for : - chronic inflammation - infection (viral, bacterial, parasitic) - Tuberculosis To my opinion, your CBC parameters are slightly elevated/decreased due to a possible infection you have been passing prior to carrying out the test. Once again, I did find only slight changes, that are not worrisome. You can repeat the CBC after 3 months. In case you are taking medications for any infection, can repeat the test after 4 weeks. Hope it was of help! Let me know if you need further clarifications! Dr.Albana
