Brief Answer:
She is not suitable for surgery.

Detailed Answer:

Hi
Thanks for your query

I'm Dr Sudhir Kumar

I have gone through your query , various reports and understand your concern. Your sister is having old tuberculosis( treated) of right hip, degenerative changes(age related) of both knees and disc prolapse at L4,L5 level with moderate root compression .I don't think it is suitable case for surgery .Diacerine and glucosamine are useful in degenerative arthritis. For disc prolapse she requires rest and analgesic such as ibuprofen for pain relief. Mecobalamin is helpful. She can get her vitamin D level and if found she can take vitamin D3. Rest of treatment depends upon her symptoms.

You can discuss with your doctor about it.

Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then I will be happy to help you.

Wishing you a good health.
Take care.

2.Which surgery is planed, for treatment of tuberculosis or Total hip replacement( THR)for pain relief?
3.Decision of surgery depends upon her symptoms now( pain etc) . What are her symptoms now?

Brief Answer:
THR can be done but decision depends on pain and difficulty in walking.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome back
THR can be done but decision depends on pain and difficulty in walking. If she has pain in hip, movements of hip are painful and restricted and having difficulty in walking then THR can be done but there is no harm in waiting for some more months to year. Decision of THR does not depends on MRI and other investigation reports.
