What Do The Following Test Results Suggest?

Question: Hello Dr.

We are trying to conceive for around 1.4 years without any specific medication. I have on an average 27 days of cycle. I did ovulation study done in May, 2015 (RO on day 11, 22 mm + HUCOG, reptured on day 15 with 25 mm). Today I am on my 13th day of cycle, LO
9th day 5mm + 13mm
11th day 6mm + 15mm
13th day 6.4mm + 16mm

I am a bit stressed now a days. Does this impact the growth of follicle?
My Dr. suggested me to have ovulation induction done in next month.

What are the chances of getting pregnant in this cycle and in next cycle with ovulation induction? Please suggest how can I conceive naturally?

I have read you query and I understand your concerns.

Following is my reply:

1) The follicles developing well. 16mm follicle is good size. It is likely to reach 18mm on day15 which is a good size for ovulation.

2) You can take hucog imjection on day 15 and try for 4 days from day15.

3) If you dont conceive this cycle, get HSG test done to check if there is normal tubal patency.

4) Seeing your age, and previous scan, you have good chances of pregnancy and I dont see any reason to worry.

Dr, thank you soo much for your valuable time and suggestions.

Today on my 15th day sonography report says LO, endo 7mm and follicle size 17mm. My dr has suggested me to take the injection hucog, so I am going to take it in evening today.

I don't understand why in previous scan the follicle size was in the good measure but not in this cycle. I was not taking any medication to improve the size of follicle that time too. Is it normal?

Hi,

The size of follicle varies in each cycle. One follicle is good enough for pregnancy. Taking medicine will increase the chances of more than one egg development.

Will the size of follicle 17-18mm and 22-24mm are considered to be the same in quality, if raptures?

Yes. Follicles 18 mm or above are good enough for pregnancy.

Hi Dr,

I have a bad news. Today my sonography report said that I got the cyst and the egg is not reputed. My Dr. said that I need to take contraceptive pils for next two months. :(

I think I got cyst because I got the injection when the follicle was small.

Please suggest what should be the next step? Please help!

Don't take pills for 2 months

I don't think cyst is because of early injection.

If follicle is not ruptured, please repeat another dose of hCG injection. This might help in follicular rupture.

You dont need pills for 2 months. Repeat ultrasound scan on day 2 next cycle, if there is no cyst, you can try again with medicines.
