Hypercoagulabale syndrome is a condition wherein the coagulation of blood is accelerated due to presence of certain abnormalities in blood.
In health, blood is kept in fluid form and it coagulated only when there is injury.
Certain investigations are available to know the cause of hypercoagulability.
These investigations include protein C, protein S, homocysteine, lupus anticoagulant, antithrombin III and factor V.
The risks involved in hypercoagulable syndrome ar formation of abnormal clots in blood vessels which can lead to complications like ishemia or loss of blood supply to the involved tissue.
Aspirin prevents platelet plug formation which is the first step in clot formation.
This may help to an extent, however, the definitive management can only be given when exact cause is known.
