Brief Answer:
Looks like allergic reaction, answer few questions

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at HealthcareMagic
I have reviewed the attached photograph and it seems to be an allergic reaction.
What is the duration of the swelling?
Have you used or applied anything new on the eyelids?
Is only one eye involved?
Do you have history of allergic rhinitis, excessive sneezing, dry skin, eczema or asthma?
Is there any recent history of insect bite on the eye?
Kindly revert with the answers.
Regards
Dr Asmeet

Hi Dr Sawhney:
It started 3 days ago and has gotten worse day by day. I have not applied anything to the lid other than the eye wash i mentioned. I am now trying to keep a hot towel on it to reduce swelling and it relieves some of the discomfort. It is only one eye, and I dont have any allergies or insect bite that i am aware of. Thanks for your help!

Brief Answer:
Allergic reaction, topical steroid, antihistaminic & oral steroids if req

Detailed Answer:
According to your complaints it seems to be an allergic reaction.
If I was your treating doctor I would recommend you to apply topical steroid like cortisone cream on the affected areas twice daily and take antihistaminic like tablet Cetrizine 10 mg once daily at bedtime for 4-5 days.
If the swelling doesn't improve in 2-3 days you might require a short course of oral steroids like tablet prednisolone 20 mg once daily for 4-5 days.
Oral steroids are prescription drugs and you need to see the doctor in person to get them.
