Question: What would cause lymph nodes, or 2 other oval shaped masses, near or in my bicep (unilateral), to show up on a isotope bone scan?

Hello

Oval masses near biceps may be due to many causes lymph nodes,rupture muscle,necrosis,calcification,hematoma etc.
Bone scan is not ideal to detect such muscular lesions.You may need clinical correlation and further investigations.
You may need ultrasound initially and X-rays.MRI can be done if needed.
It is generally due to benign causes and treatment depend upon findings.

I have had swollen lymph nodes in my groin & neck for several months, with no fever or known infection. The bone scan wasn't preformed to evaluate the lymph nodes but rather for an unrelated orthopedic issue. Should I have these lymph nodes evaluated? If so, what test?
