Question: Hi Doctor,
My Mother who is 59 Years old had a swollen right foot which I showed to the Doctor and he ordered certain tests like TLC/DLC and foot X-Ray. I am attaching all the results here. On top of these tests I got some more tests done, so that it can help doctor in diagnosis like Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, folate . Brief Answer:
She needs rest and vitamin supplements

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case. It is good that she is not having any fracture. So we just need to give her rest and pain killer like Brufen or tramadol.
She can also apply hot water fomentation and volini gel. Compression bandage will also help her.
For low vitamin D she needs to take 60000 unit vitamin D per week for six weeks.
She also needs to take one gram calcium Daily. 1000 microgram vitamin B 12 is needed for six months.
I hope this answer will be useful for you. let me know if there is any other followup questions .
Thanks

Based on the LFT test and high value of ALP (209), do you suspect anything.

Also based on low WBC (3330) and also low Neutrophils 28%, do you suspect anything

Based on very low Vitamin D levels < 8, do I need to worry about anything

Brief Answer:
She may have infection in liver

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Blood tests without symptoms are not important. Her blood tests are showing two sets of problem.
1.High chances of parasitic infection in liver and lung. That's is causing high eosinophil and monocyte count.
2. Is she having cough or abdominal pain?
That can be due to parasite infection.
3.Her low vitamin D can also be due to liver problem.
So if there is any chest or abdominal pain or cough then it is better to take chest x ray or ultrasound. Let me know if there is any other followup questions. thanks

Given that all other values in LFT are normal , shall ALP be alarming. She has never complained of abdominal pain although I will ask her today. And I have NOT seen her coughing at all. Although since some months she does speaks very less but can speak whenever she wants to and is very restless. She travel from one corner of the house to another whole day

Does this looks like some serious disease of Liver or would be it be something treatable ????

Brief Answer:
Does not looks like a serous problem

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
As she is not having any symptoms so does not look like a serious problem. But at least she needs a ultrasound and chest x ray to confirm the diagnosis. She should be fine with medications.
Thanks
