What Do My Lab Test Reports Indicate?

default
Posted on Sat, 30 Apr 2016
Question: Oncologist - Can I discard blood cancer? Like multiple myleoma or leukemia? I only have a state of constant dizziness and weakness.

Attached are my labs report, a spleen and kidney sonogram. One bloodwork is from XXXXXXX and the other from february.

Brief Answer:
Considerations

Detailed Answer:
hello and thank you for sending the question.

I reviewed the reports which you submitted. I do not see signs of multiple myeloma at this time.

However, I do see a mild elevation of your total white blood cell count as well as elevation of your hemoglobin.I think it is important that you visit with a local hematologist to have your blood work reviewed in detail.

since there is elevation of both hemoglobin and white blood cells a bone marrow biopsy might be helpful to make sure that there is no underlying bone marrow disorder of contributing to the findings on your complete blood count.at this time there's no way to completely dismiss the possibility of an underlying blood disorder which is why I think you should be if I would buy your local blood specialist in the near future.

The elevated hemoglobin might explain some of the dizziness which you have experienced.

thank you again for sending your question. Again please visit with your local hematologist for further discussion which might include the consideration of a bone marrow biopsy.

Sincerely,

Dr. Galamaga

Brief Answer:
Followup

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for the Followup.

I see the blood counts have improved. this may be in response to the antibiotic. Your neutrophil count is still a bit elevated which may indicate infection or inflammation.

I would recommend a Followup blood count and consult with a local hematologist in 1 to 2 weeks for review of all of your recent blood work results.

Sincerely,

Dr Galamaga
