What Do Chest Pains And Lowered Heart Rate Indicate Despite No Artery Blockage?

Question: My 43 year old son is having symptoms that can't be nailed down. He has seen a cardiologist. He is is good physical condition and rides bike over 2,000 miles each summer. But this spring he's had chest pains. His heart rate goes way lower than normal to way above normal. They thought it might be something electrical but were unable to pinpoint it. They were going to do a XXXXXXX last week but insurance told them to do an MRI. Inconclusive. Some calcification in arteries but no blockage detected. Yesterday he told me that he has been forgetful and sometimes doesn't know where he is. He got angry because he couldn't write with a ball point pen only to find he didn't push the button. He dumped the sewage from his camper, but left his camper at the dump site and started to walk home. He was halfway home before he realized it. He was just referred to a neurologist yesterday. Very scary.

Brief Answer:
Looks more of a neurological issue

Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir

After going through the details provided by you of your son i would like to tell you tat your sons problem seems more of a neurological issue than cardiac.

I would like to know if he is taking some medications for any other medical issue before or if he drinks alcohol.

Also i would like to see his ECG and MRI reports, kindly upload them.

Kind Regards

I will ask if my son has a copy of those reports. I'm not aware of any previous medications before March of this year, and I don't know what medications they have tried. I will try to get that information, but may not have it for several hours. He does not drink alcohol at all (never has, to my knowledge), does not smoke. There is a history of type 2 diabetes in my side of the family. I became diabetic about 2 years ago, and am taking metformin, and my father had about the same timing. XXXXXXX has been referred to a neurologist.

Brief Answer:
Hello Again

Detailed Answer:
Although having a look on the reports is quite vital but if you don't have them then it's ok. As per the medical history as I said earlier it doesn't point towards a cardiac cause.

Yes he needs a neurologist evaluation and probably a neurophychiatrist help also.

Hope to have been helpful.

Kind regards
