Brief Answer:
Need to rule out Primary Syphilis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for additional information.

I have reviewed attached image. In this case, we need to rule out PRIMARY SYPHILIS which is presented as single, firm, painless, non-itchy skin ulceration with a clean base and sharp border.

I suggest to undergo complete STD profile along with Fluorescent Treponemal Antibody Absorption test (FTA-Abs) - Specific and Sensitive test for Primary Syphilis. Differential blood count and blood sugar should be estimated.

Proper treatment depends on diagnosis of the case. You should consult with your physician for clinical examination and proper guidance of above mentioned tests.

Oral Azithromycin or intramuscular benzathine penicillin G is the FIRST choice of drug treatment. Maintain genital hygiene properly and avoid unprotected sex from NEXT time or till complete recovery.

Hope, it helps for your information. Kindly, close the discussion if you don't have any other query.

Wish your good health and practice safe sex in future.

Regards,
Dr S Patra

Thank you for your response! I have to ask, could this be HSV-2 or herpes?

Answered by Dr. Dr. Soumen Patra (11 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Doesn't look like herpes.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for your follow up query.

It DOESN'T look like genital herpes or HSV-2 infection because it appears as cluster of genital sores consisting of inflamed papules and vesicles on the outer surface of the genitals, penis etc.

It has some common symptoms include pain, itching and burning. Less frequent symptoms include discharge from penis, fever, headache, muscle pain, swollen and enlarged lymph nodes, malaise etc.

Kindly, consult with your physician for clinical examination and proceed above mentioned tests at the earliest. Treatment should be started soon.

Hope, I have answered your queries. Kindly, close the discussion.

All the best and good luck.

Regards,
Dr S Patra
