What Causes White Flaky Substance Accumulation Under Foreskin Of Penis?
Question: Hi,
I'm experiencing a substantial amount of a white flaky substance under my foreskin on the gland of my penis. It's very much like dry skin - very flaky. It's been ongoing for about two months. I normally use soap to wash the area but for the past two weeks I have just been using water. I also wash every day. I also tried canesten cream for a week to no avail. Putting a bit of Vaseline on the area seems to cure the problem for a bit, but if urinate without pulling the foreskin back the issue returns in no time.
If I leave my foreskin partially retracted over the gland the area clears up. It's only once the foreskin is fully over the area and a bit of moisture from urination is present that it starts up again.
I had this issue about nine years ago, but it cleared up on its own. This time it seems more persistent.

In all, the foreskin over the gland seems to be the main cause of all these symptoms. It provides conducive conditions for all the damage and infectious process to go on. The humid nature, urine spills and maceration, etc. are all favoring factors. We can fight as hard as we can, we would get promising and temporal relief but, the long term control remains a concern.
If you have no strong reasons against circumcision, I would recommend this as a permanent solution. Should this be something you would never consider, then try all measures of getting the foreskin away from the glands as much as possible. always cleansing and pulling the foreskin backward during urination would help but cannot be a permanent solution unless done all the times.
In all, the local conditions with the foreskin in place is not helping. I will suggest that you consider circumcision. if not possible, then keep on with the temporal relief measures on more permanent basis.
