Brief Answer:
probably bacterial pharyngitis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to HCM forum.

Features like sore throat, altered taste, halitosis etc usually indicate bacterial pharyngitis.
This can be well treated with antibiotics for a few days. In such cases, I usually give antibiotics like azithromycin or amoxicillin+clavulonate for 3 to 5 days. Your doctor will guide you.

Meanwhile you avoid cold drinks, do warm saline gargles 6 to 8 times a day. Also, try to keep good oral hygiene. Brush your teeth daily before going to bed.
For throat discomfort, you can take simple analgesics like Tylenol or Advil if you are not allergic to.

Hope this will answer your query.
