Passage of wet farts with mucus in this age is most likely due to some intestinal infection (commonly protozoal).
Here I would like to get a stool test done and to give anti protozoal like Metronidazole with or without anti bacterial like someFluroquinoloes or Cefalosporins (these are all prescription medications so needed to be prescribed by your pediatrician ).
Giving probiotics with zinc also helps in early recovery.

I would like to know if this is of recent onset or there is past history of frequent similar episodes. In case of frequent episodes allergic intestinal disorder like celiac disease should also be ruled out.
