What Causes Weird Vaginal Discharge Along With Itchy Vagina?

Question: Hi. I think i have some sort of infection in an ovary. It began with a weird discharge after menstruation that was very cloudy and yellow but not smelly. There is occasional itching. I have used a 3-day yeast infection treatment and stayed away from milk, wheat, and sugar for a month but the discharge has not gone away. Once in a while, i have mild pain in my lower left cervix. The discharge is most heavy after menstruation. I have had symptoms since February. I am not sexually active and have ruled out an STD. What could this be? How can I get rid of this?

I appreciate your concern

If the discharge is odorless and the color is white to yellowish then it can be normal in appearance especially after menses. If the discharge has persisted for more than a month then you should consult a gynecologist to examine the genital tract including a speculum exam. A wet mount microscopy of the discharge can also be done in the same setting to look for a possible cause. An ultrasound abdomen and pelvis could also be advised. Treatment would depend upon the exam and wet mount findings.
