What Causes Vomiting, Frequent Bowel Movement And Stomach Pain In Child?

Question: Dear sir

My son is having vomiting and stomach pain yesterday his palm and foot palm were hot

Today no pain and vomit but loose motions greenish in color and watery

Since morning 7 motions initially every 4 hours now every 30 mins for last 4 motions

Medication given

Ondem
Cyclopam
Oflox oz

No appetite taken

Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
Usually vomiting and loose stools is viral infection which will settle down in a few days.
You can continue ondem for vomiting till it settles.
Cyclopam needs to be given only if he has pain.
Oflox Oz may be continued if prescribed by your doctor.
I usually advice probiotic like bifilac XXXXXXX one in the morning and one in the evening.
Oral rehydration solutions like electral should be given frequently in sips to keep him hydrated.
Ensure he passes urine atleast six times a day.
If he becomes dull or loose stools increase with poor intake and urine output, you need to consult your doctor again.

You can also try racecodotril XXXXXXX three times daily.
This might decrease the volume of stools.
Diet - bland, no milk, no spicy, no oily
Preferably rice gruel, kitchdi, suji kheer, dhal etc.
Oral rehydration solutions is must
