Brief Answer:
Precautions advised

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mam, thanks for trusting health are magic.
It is common to have such problems after monistat insertion.
In my opinion you need to take oral antifungal like fluconazole along with local cream application of antifungal plus steroid in combination.
Cream will take care of the itching part also.
But both these products are prescription drugs, thus visit a gynecologist for the same plus she will help you in removing the leftover drug vehicle out of your vagina too.
In the meanwhile avoid sexual activity altogether and wear loose cotton based undergarments.
All the best.
