Question: I have gone through chemotherapy and radiation for breast cancer. I have also been through menopause. Due to these things, it is painful and a bad burning sensation during intercourse. Is there anything I can do? I am using vitamin e suppositories for the vaginal dryness.

Brief Answer:
You can use oil-based products and vaginal moisturizers

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and I would be happy to answer your question today.

Unfortunately, the most effective treatments for the vaginal dryness and thinning that occurs after menopause are not safe for breast cancer survivors. However, there are other more effective topical therapies than Viramin E oil.

It is true that oil can be an effective moisturizer but I recommend using plain mineral oil as a sexual lubricant and daily vaginal moisturizer. You should apply it twice daily. If the oil is too messy, petroleum jelly (Vaseline) works as well. There are also water based products like Replens which you apply daily as a vaginal moisturizer.

I hope I was able to give you a few options to try and that you find my advice was helpful.

Best wishes, and if you need mythical further, please do not hesitate to contact me,
