Question: where could blood come from vagina. I am over 75 and had a hysterectomy years ago
I am not feeling well. I have lesions on my bladder and am going for another test Thursday to determine how to treat them. I have extreme fatigue and nausea.

Brief Answer:
Vaginal Atrophy

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I read your query and I understand your concerns about vaginal bleeding.

Following is my reply:

1) Vaginal bleeding at postmenopausal age is likely to be due to atrophy or thinning of vaginal wall.

2) Thinned vaginal walls rub against each other and cause bleeding.

3) Another possibility (though rare) is cancer which can only be identified by examination.

Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Regards,
Dr. Soumya
