Posted on Mon, 14 Jul 2014
Question: YesI have recently been treated for a UTI, & I am currently on macrobid. My last period have ended around the first week of XXXXXXX maybe XXXXXXX 4th or 5th, I took my birth control pills 4 maybe 5 days and I stopped because I was in so much pain from my UTI. Started bleeding yesterday it's like a very mild period.is it because of the antibiotic that I am on that I am bleeding early or is it a combination that I stop the pill and I am on antibiotics for the UTI?

Brief Answer:
Due to stopping pills.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The stopping of the birth control pills has caused the early bleeding. If it is a mild spotting only then it can be a withdrawal bleeding and you can get your regular periods on the scheduled date. Do wait and see if the bleeding increases to a full period.
