What Causes Tremors In Hands?

default
Posted on Mon, 9 Jun 2014
Question: Hello Doctor,

Myself XXXXX I'm 24 yrs old. From past 2-3 yrs I am finding my hands shivering.
Initially I thought its bcoz of using computer as most of the time i would be in front of the system. But now I can see without that also my hands shivers. If I become anger or panic or laugh it still even becomes more. But i haven't consulted any doctors yet for this. But I regularly do BP Check. It will be around 125-135/60-80 in that range and even without doing any activity my heart beat rate will be in the range of 90 to 95+.

Kindly please let me know what could be the reason of this.

Regards,

Brief Answer:
Most likely essential tremors.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mr XXXXXXX

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your symptoms.

First of all, I would like to reassure you that your problem is not serious.

The most likely cause of your tremors (shivering) is essential tremors. This could run in families or can occur without any family history too.

Medicines such as propranolol would help.

We also need to exclude vitamin B12 deficiency and thyroid problems by doing blood tests.

I hope my reply has helped you.

I would be pleased to answer, if you have any follow up queries or if you require any further information.
