Brief Answer:
Synovitis is most probably what you are describing and have

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. I understand what you are describing and it is called synovitis. It is the inflammation of a synovial membrane that is present in synovial joints. The inflammation can cause the accumulation of fluid which can be synovial fluid or even blood at times (depending on the type and extent of the injury).

If you got an X-ray conducted of the region, and a fracture was ruled out then I can provide you with a set of instructions to help promote healing of the region, but please note that those steps will not work if a fracture is present, so please do make sure a fracture is ruled out first.

I hope you find my response helpful. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help.

Best wishes.

Brief Answer:
Depends on the diagnosis ma'am :), listed below

Detailed Answer:
Hi ma'am.

Well management depends on the diagnosis. If a fracture is seen, then the doctor will probably send you home with a cast and some pain management and anti-inflammatories.

But if it is just synovitis and muscular injury then RICE protocol would be advised.

R- Rest of the affected region
I- Ice application to the region several times a day
C- Compressive bandage to the region throughout the day; to be removed only at night, and for showers of course :)
E- Elevation of the affected leg, while seated

I hope this helps. Please do not hesitate to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.
