Question: The 3rd and 4th toe have a tingling sensation, particularly when I'm barefooted and walking on hardwood floor. It started about a month ago. Once I put on certain shoes or socks it goes away. What it is?

Brief Answer:
Nothing worrisome unless you have diabetes...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Sometimes, our body starts reacting differently to things we used to do. So, if something has been normal earlier, by passing of time, nothing remains the same.

It is true that the tingling sensation you have when you go barefooted is related to nerves compression. You should be happy that there is nothing serious. You should take as a signal that your body cannot tolerate when you go barefooted.

Arthritis or friction between the toes and the floor can also cause tingling.

If you do not suffer of any metabolic disease like diabetes or thyroid problems, I should not be worried about it.

Hope it put your mind at peace!
