What Causes Tingling Sensation In Ankle With Sharp Pain In Leg?
Question: I have tingling all the way to my ankle and sometime sharp pains that go all the way down the leg. The Neurontin that my doctor gave me for my left leg tingling & muscle spasms is not helping. This is beginning to remind me of the symptoms I had with the herniated disc several years ago. Dr Antenes ( not sure of spelling) at Southern Bone & Joint in Hattiesburg MS did that. What is your suggestion on how I should proceed? I will have to make arrangements with work , since I only have 2 days left I can take off from work before XXXXXXX 1. Jim E.

I have noted your current symptoms and past medical details. Based on that, it seems to be a recurrence of your old problem of herniated discs, causing compression of the nerve (that travels to leg, ankle and foot).
You may take lyrica (pregabalin) capsules for relief of tingling and pain. Also, try not to bend forwards or lift heavy weights. I know you can not take off from work, but try to minimise physical movements, as much as possible.
If symptoms persist despite these, then, an MRI scan of lumbar spine should be done.

IS lyrica (pregabalin) capsules a controlled substance? I am trying to get off the Norco I have been taking for back pain for several years. Our family doctor, Dr XXXXXXX May in Hattiesburg MS. has started me on Tramadol to replace the Norco.
I was also diagnosed a Type 2 diabetic earlier this year. between the Janumet I take & diet corrections my blood sugar is usually around 110-115. Would there be any interaction issues between any of these drugs? Meds I take are:
Atorvastatin 20MG Tab (Lipitor)
Sertraline 100MG Tab(Zoloft)
JANUMET 50-1000 Tab
Diazapam 5 mg (Valium)
(yes, I rattle when I walk I take so many pills)
