Brief Answer: Considerations Detailed Answer: Hello and thank you for sending the question. I understand you have some soreness in your throat. I also see that you recently had your gallbladder removed. Typically with this type of surgery general anesthesia is provided. This can sometimes include putting a small tube into the trachea. Sometimes during surgery and at the end of surgery having the tube in this area can cause a significant degree of inflammation. This can contribute to a sore throat. If the surgery was more than a few weeks ago then this is likely not a problem. Regarding weakness in the legs this is something that has a broad differential diagnosis of considerations. This is something you definitely want to review with your doctor. Certainly considerations include muscle weakness from lack of exercise or activity. Other considerations include inflammatory disorders or electrolyte abnormalities. I would encourage you to continue to work on a very good well-balanced diet with regular exercise. I often tell my patients that the treatment for her fatigue is exercise. This is something that helps us realize that one of the reasons why we can sometimes become fatigue is because we sometimes become deconditioned due to lack of activity and lack of challenging the body to maintain good physical fitness. I think if your symptoms have been persistent for at least a few weeks it would be beneficial for you to sit down with your primary care provider and have a good discussion followed by a good physical examination and then possibly a laboratory evaluation to help further delineate what might be going on. I am confident that in a short period of time some solutions can be rendered. Thanks again for sending your question. Please do not hesitate to share any additional healthcare concerns with us. What are the symptoms of thyroid problems? - Any possible relationship? Or is there an esophigus connection? I am an amateur singer, and this is bothersome. My voice is somewhat hourse, and I tire quickly when using my vocals. This feeling began before I had the gall bladder operation. When I yawn I feel as if there is a "lump" in my throat and like it were a swelling. I can swallow normally, for most part. The feeling, in my throat, seems to be worse when I exercise, when I need a B M and when I'm hungry. I feel as if this condition is contributing to my fatigue. I had my tonsils taken out 42 years ago. Do I need to see a nose and throat specialist? I have never smoked, I do not drink, and I try to follow a healthy diet. A medication I do take is 0.1mg synthroid. (levothyroxine)
