Question: yes, i fell thus injury my left knuckle. The injury has gone untreated, however, a pool of blood, or a redness still is visible under the skin of my left knuckle. I understand that my knuckle will never be um, the same as the knuckle on my right hand, however that does not concern me. I just want the redness to go away. How do I treat this?

Brief Answer:
treatment depends on how days before you got it?

Detailed Answer:
Hi,Welcome to healthcare magic.I have studies your case.

I have two query for you .
1.How many days before you got this injury.
2.Whether you got x-rays,and was x-ray having any fracture.

Treatment basically depends on how many days before you got injury.

1. If you got injury recently then you need to give rest to injured part by a splint such as plaster slab or plaster cast to relieve pain and along with this analgesics such as diclofenac to relieve pain. An X-ray should be done. Vitamin b-complex and vitamin c is given to promote healing.

2. After 21 days, stiffness in joints specially metacarpophalangeal joint develops. So if more than 15 days have passed since injury then plan will be active exercises of fingers and wrist to prevent stiffness and analgesics such as diclofenac to relieve pain. Vitamin b-complex and vitamin c is given to promote healing.

Hope this answers your query.

This injury was approx. 6 months ago. Still a large swollen place on knuckle which is red. No pain. Yes - recent x-rays but no fracture. I just would really like to get rid of redness (and it would be great to get of swelling too. Swollen approx size of smallish grape) Thanks

Brief Answer:
Exercises & thrombobhobe gel will be of help

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome back.

As injury is 6 months old and x-ray shows no fracture. It seems to be organized hematoma.
In my opinion it will gradually be absorbed and reduce in size. Active exercises of knuckle joint will help in its absorption. Thrombophob Gel application 3 times per day will be helpful in its absorption.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions, I will be happy to help.
