What Causes Swollen Lymph Nodes In The Groin Area?
Considerations
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for sending the question.
From the information you have shared it appears that your husband has swollen lymph nodes in multiple areas of the body. This is concerning for possible underlying lymphoma. For this reason I think you should be evaluated as soon as possible by his primary care physician.
If his doctor documents significant enlargement of lymph nodes he may request imaging of the chest, neck, abdomen and pelvis. following this, biopsy may be considered. Generally we prefer to remove a lymph node rather than use a single needle biopsy to obtain a diagnosis.
Again, I think scheduling a consultation with his primary care physician would be the first step to take. If his doctor thinks imaging is warranted he can order this. A biopsy might be the next step if needed. Beyond that additional consultations may be required.
Thank you again for seeing the question. If the symptoms of shortness of breath and difficulty swallowing becomes severe he should report to the emergency room for immediate evaluation.
sincerely,
Dr Galamaga
I have to go to work now, but wanted to thank you for your help. Have a good day. God Bless
