What Causes Swelling In The Legs While On Amlodipine?

Question: I take 5mg of amlodipine a day . just recently my legs are bothering me. I seem to have some swelling. my d r says to stop taking it altogether.. could this be causing some of my leg problem?

Coming to this point, I would recommend stopping amlodipine and switching to another antihypertensive agent like an ARB (valsartan, telmisartan) or a ACEI (lisinopril, ramipril, etc.), in order to avoid these adverse effects.
