default
Posted on Wed, 10 Sep 2014
Question: My lower legs and feet swell every day. They are fine when I walk up but within 30min they swell. They dimple and it takes an
8 count before the impression leaves. Tests show, heart, kidney, liver all fine. Normal blood sugar, potassium. I had ultra sound on my legs and it showed good circulation. What type of specialist deals with a problem like this. It is embarrassing.

Brief Answer:
Hi

Detailed Answer:
Good day,
Noted your concern. Since your heart, kidney and ultrasound were normal, we have to rule out other causes. You may have to do a venous doppler scan of legs. Other teste to do are Serum albumin, urine protein, Thyroid function tests as well as ultrasound of abdomen and pelvis ( to assess if there is compression of pelvic blood vessles which also cause swelling in legs).
If these are normal, you will have to see a vascular surgeon to assess the competecy of the veins in your legs.
