Swelling and air in the groin are characteristic symptoms of inguinal hernia. If you have had hernia before, and now swelling has appeared, it could stuck. Air is usually present in intestines. So most likely you have an intestine which has stuck in the groin. If you have also nausea and vomiting, gas obstruction this is urgent and may need surgery right away.

I suggest you to consult general surgeon. Hernia should be repaired.
