Question: Hello. I'm XXXXXX. Since yesterday I suddenly started having a pain in the right side of my stomach, right under my ribs, felt almost like a stitch. It hasn't gotten any better still, and is now hurting right next to my bellybutton on the rigth side. espescially when i press on it or make a sudden move.. I haven't had any fever or been feeling any sick, unless of a little tired. Can you please help me? Should I visit a doctor or do you think it's fine?

Thanks,
XXXXXX

Brief Answer:
could be gall stones

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

The sudden pain on right side of the stomach just under your ribs could either be due to gall stones or right kidney stones. I would suggest that you get an ultrasound scan of your abdomen to look for the same.

It would be worthwhile to see a doctor and plan the aforementioned test.

At present for pain relief, if it gets severe, you can take any painkiller that you have like advil tablets.

With the ultrasound report, you need to see a doctor.

Hope I have been helpful.
