Question: Hello sir, i was facing problem of sudden lightheaded ,shivering and fatigue problem since last 7-8 months.
And duration of this attack was 2-10 min. During the attack i m unable to speak and stand on my feet. Sometimes i suffered from severe headache also of 8-10 hrs duration. In doctor reports my b12 was 166 and d3 was less than 10.
Now the doctor has prescribed me alprax 0.25 and pantop -d and b12 injections.
I want to know whether i m suffering from neurological problem. I forget things very soon. And i m also unable to solve some easy problems of daily routine. But it does not happen always. Please help me

Brief Answer:
Vitamin D and B12 deficiency should not cause these attacks.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.

It is unlikely that vitamin D or vitamin B12 deficiency is the cause of these attacks.Though,I am in agreement that you have a severe vitamin D deficiency along with vitamin B12 deficiency and so,vit.D3 and B12 injections should be continued as per the advised schedule.

For these episodic symptoms, which last a few minutes, closest possibility I can think of is either 'Anxiety attacks' or 'atypical seizures'.However,I would like to know- whether your consciousness level gets altered in any way, during these events?-or you remain fully conscious and oriented? This may help in narrowing the differentials to the problem.

I shall be looking forward to your follow-up query with details as asked.

Thanks sir for replying..
Sir, consciousness gets decreased extremely.
Although the attacks are for few minutes but consciousness goes for 7-8 hrs. Here consciousness doesnt mean that i becum faint but i m unable to understand things even i dont feel confidant in doing daily routine work.
My thinking becum low.
But here one thing is strange that after i started taking medicine n injec prescribed by doc, frequency of attack increased but duration of attack decreased

Sir one more thing i forgot to mention.
My breathing becums very fast before n during attack

Brief Answer:
EEG during those few hours/MRI Brain

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being in follow-up and providing further details.

Considering your clinical details,I would like to rule out the seizures as probable cause of these events.

You should undergo an electroencephalography(EEG) during the event(at least during those few hours when you have impaired senses). It may give a clue to the diagnosis.Further,MRI Brain with epilepsy protocol should also be done.

Meanwhile, please start doing regular mental relaxation exercises so that the anxiety factor gets minimized. It may possibly, bring some improvement.

Hope this helps. If you have any further question,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up.
