What Causes Spotting Of Brownish Blood?

default
Posted on Wed, 12 Oct 2016
Question: My periods are very regular and happen at the interval of 28 days every month. They are also accompanied by a lot of cramps and pain in the lower abdomen.

Yesterday, I noticed spotting of brownish blood about 7-8 drops at the interval of 2 hours each.

Today the flow is a little more but the color remains the same. This is also the time that my period is due. I am wondering if this is my period discharge. If yes, why is the color different and why was it accompanied by no pain this time?

Brief Answer:
Transvaginal ultrasound scan required

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concerns about painful periods.

This appears to be due to disease like fibroid or endometriosis.

You need to get transvaginal ultrasound scan to identify the same.

The colour of the flow was different as it appear to be piece of old clotted blood with endometrial tissue.

Immediate ultrasound scan will help to identify the cause of such pain and bleeding /flow.
