What Causes Spotting During Fertile Period?

default
Posted on Thu, 20 Oct 2016
Question: The first day of my last period was Sept 11. I had unprotected sex Sept 20. I started spotting(dark brown/pink) from Sept 25-28. My fertile window prediction is Sept 26 - Oct 1 or 2. My next period predication is to start around Oct 12/13/15 depending on what tracker I'm looking at. I've taken a pregnancy test - negative. I've take an ovulation test - negative. The spotting has never occurred before. I've done some research online and get mixed messages from implantation bleeding to ovulation bleeding. Should I go see my OB/GYN or just wait it out and see what happens around the date my period is due?

Was this mid cycle spotting/ implantation bleeding / ovulation bleeding / something else completely.

Please help, confuse, stressed and panic.

Brief Answer:
Ovulation bleeding

Detailed Answer:
Hello mam, thanks for trusting health are magic.
Most likely it is ovulation bleeding and nothing serious.
Just wait for your periods and see the periodicity.
In case you had any emergency pill after sex then this can be withdrawl bleeding too.
Ovulation predictor kits are not very sensitive so don't get mislead by them as if they show positive then ovulation is confirmed but in case of negative test it cannot be predicted.
Take care

Hi, thank you. What's the difference between ovulation bleeding and implantation bleeding.

I've never had ovulation before, why now?

Brief Answer:
ovulation bleeding most likely

Detailed Answer:
Implantation bleeding occurs around 12-14 days after ovulation and coincides with period date usually.
Ovulation bleeding occurs in mid cycle so both are different in timing only and can be gauged only in women with regular cycles.
There are less chances in your case because you haven't had it before but then it is the only possibility and can start at any age.
