Question: Hi doc I'm 31 years old. Last Dec I had cervical cauterization done. This XXXXXXX I missed period and I went to doc on 20th XXXXXXX the ultrasound showed cysts and doc prescribed primoult-n twice a day for 5 days n rejumet twice a day. She asked to take rejumet for 4 months Dailly and primoult-n 23rd day on after I get period each month. I got my period on 29th XXXXXXX after taking primoult-n. In July I took primoult again as she suggest on 23rd day on but forgot to take one dose so I took it next time but I missed period so went to doc. She took a pregnancy test n then an ultrasound n said I was 6 weeks pregnant and they showed baby's heartbeat. She asked me to stop all medicines and take folic acid, duphaston twice a day and susten gel twice a week. Now I'm in the 8th week and I noticed spotting in my innerwear though we I examined the discharge it was brown mucus. It only happened once n I have backache. Should I be concerned? Will pregnancy stick even though I took primoult? Please advice. this is my second pregnancy n first was normal

Brief Answer:
Precautions advised

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, thanks for trusting health care magic.
I understand your anxiety related to the issue.
This bleeding you had is most probably implantation bleeding which is common and usually subsides without any side effects on the baby.
But still it cannot be differentiated from start of the abortion process so better to have Precautions as much as possible so take a note of the following points -
- have good rest with no exertion at all
- avoid intercourse
- take ample amount of water
- take good amount of milk and green leafy vegetables
- almonds and walnuts are very good and should be taken on daily basis
- avoid any kind of stress
- keep taking all the medicines as prescribed daily without a miss.
Primolut was stopped long back so don't have doubts related to it as it shows effects within a couple of days if at all.
Duphaston and rest and two main supports right now and continue that as advised.
Take care.

Hello doc thanks for your reply.. I have read implantation occurs quite early even before missing period. I'm in the 8th week is implantation possible now? I don't have stomach ache or cramps but just a constant dull backpain

Brief Answer:
Rest and good diet only things needed

Detailed Answer:
Yes dear, implantation is a phase of 3-6 weeks in which bleeding can occur and the one which occurs before missing your period is the earliest when it can occur.
So most likely it is implantation bleeding only but since it is difficult to differentiate between it and abortion taking Precautions is always advisable.
Just relax and keep taking good diet and rest and you will be fine soon.

Dr Manisha
