Posted on Tue, 10 Jan 2017
Question: i had sex(with condom) and oral sex with my ex and after a few days there was a change in my discharge, it was thicker and i could literally feel it in my underwear, weeks after i had sex with someone else and few days later i received sores on my labia and rectum , so i did some blood work and it was positive for HSV 1. i want to know who do you think gave me the HSV 1 was it my ex or the other guy i had sex with?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.First, usually HSV2 is causing genital infection and only if there was oral sex,it could be hsv1. if you did just blood test, then it may be that you have hsv1 somewhere else in your body. If this is genital hsv, then outbreak usually occurs 3-4 days after intercourse. outbreak is manifested with sores and itching and discharge is not typical sign.So it is more common than other intercourse was the one. but you should do swab test to confirm that this is genital herpes.Wish you good health. Regards

Brief Answer:
Probably

Detailed Answer:
if this is confirmed genital herpes then probably the second guy gave to you. rarely, incubation period may be more than 1 week so most commonly, sores will develop within5 days from intercourse.
