Brief Answer:
Hormonal imbalance

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for asking Health Care Magic forum.
I have gone through your query. As you haven't had sex over an year STD is most unlikely. As the discharge is clumpy it should be from uterus. So an infection should be ruled out.It can also be due to hormonal imbalance.
A pelvic examination by a gynecologist is essential to rule out conditions like pelvic inflammatory disease. In case of a normal pelvic examination a dysfunctional uterine bleeding can be suspected. An ultrasound examination will be needed also.
Antibiotic therapy will be needed for case of infection. If it is dysfunctional uterine bleeding then it can be treated by hormone progesterone.
Hope this may help you.Let me know if anything not clear.I am happy to help you.
Thanks.

Perhaps should have mentioned copper IUD. Could this be the cause?

Brief Answer:
Copper IUD

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for your follow up query.
Copper IUD can cause Pelvic inflammatory disease in some women. So it is better to rule out that.A pelvic examination followed by ultrasound can rule out that.
In such case it should be removed and antibiotic therapy should be taken.
Hope this may help you.Let me know if you have any further query.
Thanks
