default
Posted on Sat, 20 Sep 2014
Question: During health checkup my bilirubin was 2.7 and bile pigments and salts were present in urine. Doctor confirmed it to be jaundice and treated me. My bilirubin was reduced to 0.8 in 20 days. After that I had to come to other place for my education. The reports suggests normal sgot and agpt but increased bilirubin. Please throw some light and I am consuming boiled vegetables, kichidi and fruits for three months after moving to my college.

A slight increase of bilirubin level after complete recovery from  jaundice is quite normal and seen many times. It is a natural course during the recovery from hepatitis A infection where bilirubin level exhibit some waxing and waning before becoming totally normal.
There is nothing to worry.
Drink plenty of water.Take more of fresh fruits and green vegetables.
