Question: Nobody seems to be replying to my questions, is anyone out there??? Hey, my name is XXXX, I am extremely worried about my health. I have itchy skin and a rash in the following areas: Penis, Testicles, left side of lip, anal region, sometimes my wrists, under the eyes (eyelids) and my scalp itches as well, but I can not see it. This is the 2nd time this rash has happened since a month ago, when I was diagnosed with prostitis and treated with ciprofloxin. The rash is red and extremely itchy. It seems to have a shiny area with raised skin, then it itches like crazy, creates a full fledged reaction, then eventually gets a flaky texture to it and lots of dry skin. As I mention this is the 2nd time I have had this in a month. under the eyes initially itch, then turn into a full blow rash after I itch it or spend time in the wind/sun. The doctor told me he thought my genital rash it was a yeast infection an treated with diflucan. It went away for about 5 days, with a crusty layer over the top. It has since come back again, and I am currently on Diflucan (300mg so far, has been 7 days)-for all these photos. I also have a general itch in the anus at times. I am very concerned this could be a life changing event, because it will be if I have to deal with these problems....Please give me some advice and try to diagnose me, rather than telling me to see a dermatologist, because I have an appointment in a couple weeks.

Brief Answer: Stop Ciprofloxacin; use emollients; dont worry Detailed Answer: Hi there. At the outset, let me say your history & description of your lesions are both well crafted & give the other person a very clear picture & is extremely useful for diagnosis. Having said that, dermatology is a tricky field & the morphology of lesions is such that two people exhibiting the same symptoms may have 2 different diseases. In your case, I feel you ail from a pesky but non-threatening skin condition called seborrheic dermatitis & the skin lesions do NOT look like psoriasis. Stress may be a major implicated factor & /or aggravating factor in your case & you may need to address these issues if any. Climate too will play a role & there may be some temperature changes ion your vicinity which may have contributed. Most importantly may be an 'allergic' phenomenon & you are pointing out to the possibility of fluoroquinone allergies (eg ciprofloxacin) & to my mind, this is most likely. Stop all these antibiotics; continue the creams & antifungals & antihistamines till your scheduled dermatology appointment. An additional cream can be particular brand of moisturiser that may be acquired OTC called SENSIBIO DS from a company called Bioderma; alternatively, a cream called Restoraderm (Galderma) may prove useful. Good Luck & Godspeed! Dr Praveen Rodrigues MD

Brief Answer: Diagnosis stands; prognosis dependent on ADD asses Detailed Answer: Hi there Zach. I am afraid, my diagnosis for you does not change based on these symptoms. They still do fit into my earlier stated diagnosis. I have a nephew with ADD too & may I suggest a review with the psychiatrist/neurologist close to you & trusted by you for possibly a tweak in your dosage...this need not mean increase dosage; may even be a reduction in same to tailor to your needs as I feel environmental stressors et al are in play here. Good Luck & Godspeed. Dr Praveen Rodrigues MD
