What Causes Sharp Pain In My Vaginal Area?

default
Posted on Thu, 9 Apr 2015
Question: This just started tonight. I was using the restroom when I felt a sudden painful pressure in my vagina. It literally felt like something was trying to rip and come out. No burning or itching, no strong odor. When I stood up it was like a string from vagina to belly button and it was a sharp pain from one to the other. The pain actually went away bUT I can still "feel" it. I still have a slight pressure in my vagina as well. About an hour ago I bent to pick something up and the same thing. My period isn't due for another 2 weeks. I've never experienced anything like this. Any suggestions?

Brief Answer:
This is Ovulation pain

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

I read your query and I understand your concerns about pain in the middle of cycle.

Following is my reply:

1) This appears to be ovulation pain that occurs before 2 weeks of cycle.

2) This is known to happen like this around ovulation time.

3) This pain will reduce gradually and disappear after 2 days.

4) If you are trying for pregnancy, this is best time to have sexual intercourse to get pregnant.

5) You dont need any medicines or pain killers.

I hope I answered your query. I will be available for any follow up query you have.

Regards,
Dr. Soumya
